Our commitment

Find Splash Pads Near Me wants everyone to be able to find and use the directory, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, screen magnification, or other assistive technology.

Conformance status

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. This is our target and the standard we test against.

At this time we consider the site partially conformant: most of the site meets Level AA, but some parts may not yet fully meet every requirement. This statement reflects a self-assessment, not an independent third-party audit. We record the improvements we ship in the changelog below.

How we work toward accessibility

  • We use clear, structured headings and page landmarks so the page is easy to navigate.
  • Every interactive control can be reached and operated with a keyboard, and the item you are focused on is clearly outlined.
  • Images have text descriptions where they carry meaning.
  • We check that text and interface colors have enough contrast to be readable.
  • Animations respect your device’s reduce-motion setting.

Known limitations

We want to be honest about where the site can fall short:

  • Search and the “find places near me” feature rely on JavaScript. Browsing by state, city, and individual listing works without it.
  • When suggesting a listing, the address autocomplete is provided by Google Maps, a third-party service whose accessibility we do not control.
  • Listing details are submitted by the public, so some descriptions may be brief or incomplete.

  • Fixed The search button now has a clear label, so screen reader users know what it does.
  • Added On place listings, the main actions (visit website, get directions, call) are now grouped and labeled together near the top of the page.

June 2026

  • Added The find-places-near-me button now shows a “Searching…” message and an animated cue while it locates you, so it is clear something is happening. The animation is turned off automatically when your device is set to reduce motion.

May 2026

  • Fixed On phones, the search and near-me buttons in the header are now clearly visible on sites that use a dark header.
